Kamps Propane

After evaluating proposals from several local propane suppliers, SIRS Branch 96 chose Kamps Propane as the program most advantageous to our members.  The Kamps Program can be summarized as follows:

·        Kamps guarantees a price equal to the sum of their current cost of propane based on the current  Bay Area refinery price plus certain fixed add-on's. Their total delivered cost is $.089/gallon over the refinery price. In addition Kamps will add $.54 /gallon to cover their direct cost and profit.  Therefore the SIRS price per gallon of propane will be equal to the Bay area refinery price  + $.54+ $.089.  This total price can vary considerably throughout the year due to the volatility of the refinery price.

·        A representative from SIRs Branch 96 is sent a periodic pricing newsletter that shows Bay Area propane refinery prices so that the above pricing program can be monitored.

·        Kamps charges an annual rental of $66/year for a 250 gallon tank and a charge of $90/year for a 500 gallon tank.  The first year rental is waived by Kamps.

·        If you decide to join the Kamps program and are not a current Kamps customer, Kamps will deliver one of their tanks to your property, set the tank from the prior company aside and pump all remaining propane from the old tank over to the new tank.  They will also make a safety inspection and relight all pilot lights at this time.  This service is provided at no cost to the customer.

·        Kamps has various payment plans available to customers including monthly Auto Pay and an EZ pay program (monthly cost averaging). Payment for propane usage is the responsibility of the customer.  SIRS will not become involved in service or payment issues.

·        Participants in the program will be assigned to a Kamps delivery route (if they are not already assigned to one) and have a Kamps Smart Tank Monitoring System installed to their tank. There is no additional charge of the monitoring system and the system does not result in any telephone toll charges.
