                                      Fishing

As the newly appointed FISHING CLUB Chairman I would like to introduce myself to the SIRS BRANCH 96 members:  I am Dee Davis and have lived in Drytown for ten years.  I have been fishing 73 of my 77 years, have fished most of the waters in Northern California, pursued most species of fish, including returning ocean fish, warm water fish, trout, lake trout, and planted King and Kokanee salmon.  (Note pursued not necessarily caught)  We live in an area of year round fishing and fall and winter seasons are coming soon.  There will be many fishing opportunities.  To get the FISHING CLUB rolling I need to know who the fishermen are and their special interests.  I will be sending the fishermen a questionnaire to assist me in developing a fishing program for the FISHING CLUB.  Please phone 209-245-6180 or 916-425-4072, e-mail dutch@drytownca.com , or fax 209-245-4514.  The FISHING CLUB will follow past tradition and meet before every luncheon meeting at 10:45 am outside near the front door.  You don't need to be a fisherman to join us on our outing; we welcome those who want to spend quality time at waters edge.  Looking forward to hearing from you.  Dee Davis

First returns from the FISHING CLUB Survey (26 members) show strong interest in bank and stream fishing for trout and bass. There is also sufficient interest to pursue charters for ocean and lake fishing.  For our Alaska Fishing Experience I have contacted the Alagnak Fishing Lodge, you can view their web site at www.alagnaklodge.com

Remember that we will meet before each Luncheon Meeting outside the front door.  In late September a trip to Bear River Reservoir may be in order.  Give me a call if interested.  Dee
