FISHING CLUB
I have been fishing for most of my 80 years, and have
fished most of the waters in Northern California, pursued most species of fish,
including returning ocean fish, warm water fish, trout, shad, lake trout, and
planted King and Kokanee salmon. (Note pursued not necessarily caught) We live
in an area of year around fishing. There are many fishing opportunities so just
pick a season.
The FISHING CLUB meets before every “luncheon meeting” at 10:45
outside, near the front door to share fishing experiences. You don’t need to be
a FISHING CLUB member to join us on our outings; we welcome those who want to
spend quality time at waters edge. We have local creeks, rivers, lakes, and
large and small reservoirs for our fishing. We tour interesting fish related
facilities, participate in charter boat fishing, and help promote local youth
fishing.
Please phone (209-245-6180 or 916-425-4072), e-mail djd(at)drytownca.com.

Lake
Pardee will reopen for the
2012 season on February 17th. Bank fishing will probably be the best
bet. The following table shows that the reservoir water conditions are very
good.
I contacted BIG MACK CHARTERS at
Lake Tahoe for a spring charter. He is
available for a trip mid-week the 25th of April. In case of extreme weather or
unusual water conditions on the 25th, back-up date will be April 26,
2012. With a group of eight to twelve fishermen we will reserve the boat for
ourselves (The head count presently is five, the more going reduces the cost per
fisherman). You will need a fishing license before boarding (a daily will do)
and all fishing gear, tackle, and bait are provided. Daily and seasonal licenses
can be purchased on-board the morning of our fishing day (if you have not
already purchased your 2012 seasonal license, buying on the boat will help the
boat Captain out with Department of Fish and Game). We are expecting to catch
Lake (Mackinaw), Brown and Rainbow Trout. Each
participant will provide their own transportation and any other accommodations.
Let me know your interests.
Remember that we meet before each Luncheon Meeting
outside the front door.
