The Annual Sons In Retirement Branch 15/96 Golf Club Championship was held at the Mace Meadow Country Club on June 10, 2008, with 41 members competing. The 2008 Club Champ with a net score of 65 was Dick Hatch of Pioneer. Following close behind was Perry Carr with a 2nd place score of 66, Art Bertolero, 3rd with a net 67 and Chi Chi Chavoya shooting a net 69.
     Tournament Director Sam Mazzariello, received the coveted award for 'closest to the pin' with a short 4 footer on hole number two.
     The club has members from both Branch 15 and 96 of Amador County. They play each Tuesday at the Mace Meadow course and the group is traveling to Carson Valley for a three day golf event on July 14, 2008. Any member of SIR can join the golf club and any retired man is welcome to become a member of Branch 15 or 96.
